Description

Transoceanic is the debut release from The Air Castles, a joint electronic music project between myself and Nathan Rich. This album introduces the songwriting technique that we employ in the process: I create both demos and full-fledged songs with a focus on strong melodies and composition, which are then handed off to nathan for fine-tuning and mastering. This method brings out the best in both of us for the strongest songs possible.

This album reflects an oceanic theme, somewhat similar to The Maelstrom EP, from which these songs are based. Most of the songs on the EP were rearranged and mastered by Nathan Rich and included here. The album also includes a filtered guitar recording of an original composition of mine, and an experiment outtake track that was also arranged for the album. The songs "Avian" and "Rainfall" are also seen on Nathan's own electronic solo album Understory under the same names, with slightly different compositions, and were pulled in for this album once the project began.
